Constellation:

The Storyteller

I’m Chyanne, and I cherish meaningful and long-lasting experiences. I dream of building various worlds and dimensions that people can fully immerse themselves in—places that spark wonder and curiosity, and leave behind impressions they could never find anywhere else.

My own endless curiosity fuels a user-first approach to product design. I pull from a range of research methodologies and apply Design Thinking to empower my process, placing empathy and the excitement for new experiences at the core.

I often start my process with paper sketches to capture ideas quickly (thanks to a lifelong habit of idle doodling), then use AI as a springboard for exploration, generating a multitude of possibilities that I can refine into focused solutions. From there, I iterate digitally, incorporating both user and stakeholder feedback at every turn to ensure my designs meet targeted goals as well as feeling intuitive, engaging, impactful.

How did you get into Product Design?

My journey into UIUX began with a passion for illustration in high school and then later majoring in Graphic Design in university. At first, I didn’t know where it would take, only knowing that I wanted to do something creative as a profession, but during an 8-week class in my senior year, I discovered the world of UIUX and realized it combined everything love: creativity, storytelling, empathy, and problem-solving.

My travels also help to shape my perspective. With every new place I go to, I like to experience the world through others’ eyes, which gives me fresh ways of thinking about inclusivity, approaching problems from different angles, and empathizing with different users. Video games are another big influence for me, as their worlds, mechanics, and storytelling inspire me to design products that are not only functional, but immersive and memorable too.

What do you do outside of work?

I have a fundamental interest in the way things work, inside and out, so I may be spending my time watching documentaries on different cultures (mostly on Japan; I have a special interest in the country, so much so that I learned Japanese), linguistics, space, psychology, or the treatment of different medical conditions (think Dr. Pimple Popper or Chubbyemu). Other times I spend my time with my head in the clouds, channeling my imagination into writing in-depth analyses on my favorite video game characters, or playing The Sims and living out my wildest fantasies of being an actress-model-singer.

Regardless of what I’m doing, I’m doing it with a delicious beverage by my side. I’m always thinking of ways to craft my next sugar-free, protein-packed concoction. My current favorite is a decaf, sugar-free, dairy-free iced coffee, and it actually tastes REALLY good! My mom said so!

Oh, and I don’t know if you could tell but I’m obsessed with purple.
